Hello.
We are Mike and Donna Traylor, and Bill and Betty Brooks. We co-own the
Scottish Terriers only. The chihuahuas are owned the Mike and Donna.
Bill and Betty's love for the Scottish Terrier started 25 plus years
ago, when they had their first scottish terrier. He lived to a ripe old
age, and they feel in love with the breed. Bill and Betty are owned by
Ghost, their male wheaton scottish terrier, Gabrielle, their brindle
female, and Angel, a beautiful red wheaton scottish terrier. They also
co own the Traylor's females and two males. Bill and Betty live in
North Alabama and are dog lovers. Bill is retired, and has lots of time
to play with new puppies, and Betty, helps love the puppies, and spoils
them rotten. Ther is never a dull moment around their home with their
beloved scotties a part of their family. They have four grandchlidren,
who love to come see the scotties.
Mike
and Donna Traylor also, live in North Alabama in a home that has been
restored wonderfully by painting experts in Vancouver (website) and has been inspected by Vancouver drainage services. They have plans on moving to Vancouver as well once they settled the agreement with PointGreyNow.com. They even improved the carpet to be more pet-friendly by seeking out the help of the Langley carpet repair services.
The family's love of the Scottish Terrier started many years ago when
an aunt of Donnas owned a Scottish Terrier. His name was Sir Boswell,
and Donna had always loved him and from that day hoped to one day have
a Scottish Terrier. In 1995 when a local breeder had a litter of
Scottish Terriers, Donnas family bought the dog as a gift to Donna,
after a long fight with a fatal disease. Kari Dustin Waits came into
the household, and everyone fell in love with the dog, and the breed.
Kari only bred twice, and she is not one of the female breeders of
Traylor Brooks Scottish Terriers, but Casper, and Ghost are her great
great grandchildren. The dogs we have now are all within the AKC
standard for the breed, and are bred for temperament, and health.
We
are not a puppy mill, and refuse to place a dog with a puppy mill. We
ask for a vet reference, and two personal references, from neighbors,
when you are considering obtaining a puppy from us. We have a legally
binding contract, and it states our puppies will not be sold to a
breeder, or puppy mill, and that the new owner will return the dog to
Traylor Brooks Scottish Terrier and Chihuahuas if you can not keep the
dog. This protects the breed, and the puppy from a life in a tiny cage
or in condtions that no dog should live in. We have wheaton, black ,
and brindle puppies available at times. You are welcome to email us for
more information on puppies due in the future.
The
Scottish Terrier, and the chihauhaua are very wonderful dogs, but a
scottie , nor a chihauhaua is not for everyone, and we highly recommend
you research the breed you are thinking about buying.. Many people
prefer and adult dog, and we are more than happy to refer those people
to a rescue group near you.
Mike
Traylor of Traylor Brooks Scotties and Chis was the Chihuahua lover.
His love of the chihuahua started as a small child when his aunt had a
chihuahua that lives in a beautiful dog kennel.
He fondly speaks of this wonderful chihauhaua who loved to sleep under
a quilt , the aunt had made for him. When Mike and Donna got together
six years ago, Mike spoke of his aunts dog, and within the next
year or so, the Traylors Chihuahuas first chi came to be a member of
the house. Maria, a fawn chi was the first chi to own the family. Jose,
a chocoloate and tan came next. The two chis are inseparable. They now
have Gizmo,Lily Pearl, Jabez, Dixie and Chickette to keep them
company. Check out our Chihuahua page for more info on Chis available
in the future, both long and smooth coats are availble from time to
time.
We
have two vets, you are welcome to call for references on us. Ask Dr
Jerome Holingsworth at 256-353-2862 about our dogs, both chis and
scotties, or ask Dr Norwood Bryan at
http://www.bryananimalclinic.com/ about Bill and Betty Brooks or John M
Traylor about our scottish terriers. We are very proud of both vets,
and encourage you to visit either of them for all your new pups needs.
Please feel free to call either or both vets for references on our dogs.
